Our second lecture series of the year was successfully held on August, 9th 2010. The title was "Intelligent Transport System" and has generated great interest from industrial players, government sector and academic institutions. The speaker is from BSMART Technology, Mr. Stephen Teang the Managing Director.

Announcement : Public Comments on the Draft Reviewed Spectrum Plan (mySpect

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) wishes to announce that the draft reviewed Spectrum Plan document is available for public viewing.

Interested parties may provide comments on the draft document by making written submissions on any matter they consider relevant to the Spectrum Plan.   Submissions must be supported with reasons and, where appropriate, provide or refer to evidence or other relevant information. 

The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on Tuesday, 6 July 2010.

Announcement : SKMM Double Time and NSCC Official Launch

On 30 March 2010, SKMM has conducted the second Double Time series.  The event with the theme "Wireless 1Malaysia" was held at SKMM Cyberjaya, in conjunction with the launch of the National Spectrum Consultative Committee (NSCC), officiated and launched by YB Dato' Seri Utama Dr Rais bin Yatim, Minister of Information, Communications and Culture Malaysia.  Three distinguised speakers from GSMA, LS Telcom and Qualcomm have been invited to share their experiences during the event.  The presentation materials can be downloaded here:

3) LS Telcom - Spectrum Management in a Changing Environment

On the afternoon of the same day, the first NSCC meeting was held at the Boardroom, attended by the members of NSCC and chaired by Dato' Mohamed Sharil bin Mohamed Tarmizi, Chief Operating Officer of SKMM.  Four presentations were delivered by SKMM's officers, which provided some insights on the heading SKMM as far as spectrum management is concerned.  The presentation materials can be downloaded here:

News : Spectrum Research Colloquium 2009

The annual Spectrum Research Colloquium 2009 was held from 23 to 25 November 2009, at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel in Putrajaya.  The event was officially launched by the new Chairman of SKMM, Tan Sri Khalid Ramli.  Fourteen (14) research teams attended and presented their research project, including some who presented their final findings as well as recommendations based on their completed project.  One (01) research team however failed to turn up at the event.  All the presentation slides presented during the event, including the slides by the SRCP Secretariat, are now available for download here.



News : Lecture Series 05/2009

On August, 21st 2009, a Lecture Series has been successfully held at SKMM Auditorium. The theme chosen was "Wireless Technology and Us" featuring two speakers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Both are the recipients of the Spectrum Research Collaboration Program (SRCP) fund in 2007. UKM team is represented by their leader Assoc. Prof. Datin Dr. Norizan Abdul Razak while the UTM team is represented by their leader Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Alias.



Completed Research : Issue of Spectrum Cost versus Network Cost

We would like to announce that a Research under the Spectrum Research Collaboration Program (SRCP) titled "Issue of Spectrum Cost versus Network Cost" (Ref. No.: SRCP-07-UNIM-01) has been successfully completed. The research is lead by Dr. Cassey Lee from University Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNiM). The research report is now available in our Knowledge Resource Center (KRC) at SKMM Headquarter in Cyberjaya and softcopy of the report can be downloaded by clicking this link.

Our fourth lecture series of the year was successfully held on June, 15th 2009. The title was "HD Radio Technology" and has generated great interest from industrial player and academic institutions. The speaker for this lecture series is from iBiquity Digital Corporation represented by Mr. Hal Kneller the Director of International Broadcast Business Development.
