Spectrum Research Collaboration Program (SRCP) Realizing the rapid advancement in wireless communications requires more radio spectrum and the fulfillment of this demand can be greatly supported by efficient spectrum management, Suruhanjaya Komunikasi and Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) and designated Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) have agreed to work in a collaborative framework. Objective Under this collaboration framework, the Spectrum Research Collaboration Program (SRCP) was established to improve the administrative, regulatory and technical expertise of frequency management, by promoting and funding research on spectrum related matters. Three priority research areas have been identified under this program: Emerging wireless technologies Spectrum management (policy and regulation) Spectrum and us (application of wireless technologies and the society) Malaysian’s IHL in the public and private sector are eligible to participate in this SRCP.  Other organizations that are interested to participate shall form collaborative partnerships with IHLs, with the IHL as the lead partner. News : Lecture Series 02/2009

The theme was "Spectrum Economics" and has generated great interest from industrial player and academic institutions. The event was opened by a remark made by SKMM Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi. The Chief Executive Officer of DiGi Telecommunication Sdn. Bhd. News : Lecture Series 01/2009

Posted by mhomar on 2009/5/4 9:00:34 (86 reads) On March, 19th 2009, a Lecture Series entitled "Mobile Broadband Evolution: HSPA+ and LTE" has been successfully held at SKMM Auditorium, Cyberjaya. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Pranesh Sinha, Director, QCT Product Management, Qualcomm International, San Diego. This lecture has triggered lots of interest on HSPA+ and LTE as well as spectrum regulatory matters.  There were about 100 participants turned up for the lecture series.

This is the first Spectrum Research Collaboration Program (SRCP) colloquium which is a collaborative initiative between SKMM and Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) in spectrum related matters.

The lecture was delivered by Dip.-Ing Endri Rachman from School of Aerospace Engineering, University Science Malaysia. This lecture has triggered lots of interest on UAV system and operation as well as spectrum regulatory matters.  There were about 50 participants turned up for the lecture series. The lecture was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Fadzil Ismail from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kuliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia. There were about 40 participants turned up for the lecture series.
